Fusion FC Scholarship Player Policy

The Clarksville Fusion F.C. wants to provide opportunities for all youth players to participate in our program.  We understand that some youth may not participate due to financial limitations or economic hardship.   The Clarksville Fusion FC Financial Assistance/Scholarship program is designed to assist players and their families to allow those players to allow for them to participate in our program. 

In the event that a team has a scholarship player on their roster, the Team Manager or Financial Manager for the team will work with the Head Coach and Parent(s) to determine an acceptable and affordable plan for the player who has demonstrated financial need.    The scholarship family’s information will remain confidential and will only be shared with the Team's Financial Officer, Head Coach, DOC and Clarksville Fusion F.C. Board of Directors.  The Head Coach will have the authority to make the decision to allow financial aid/scholarship assistance to a family with the following stipulations:

For all teams : Clarksville Fusion FC may allow for 1 player who demonstrates financial need to receive the scholarship assistance program.

Any additional players outside of this allowance must be approved by the Director of Coaching and the Board of Directors. 

TYPES OF ASSISTANCE

The amount of scholarship assistance is determined on a case by case basis.

1.   Extended Payment of Fees:  This will be addressed on an individual team level with the team Head Coach and Team Financial Manager.   Flexibility with payment dates, etc can be discussed and arranged.

2.  Club Registration Fees:  A player’s family may request partial assistance up to 100% of club fees by indicating their need on the scholarship/financial assistance application form.  The current club fee is $75.00 for U9/10 and U11-U17 is $105.00 per player per year. 

3.  Coaching Stipend and DOC Fee:  A player’s family may request partial assistance up to 100% of the Coaches monthly stipend and DOC Monthly fee. 

4.   Team Events/Individual Costs:  A player may request partial assistance up to 100% of the cost associated with actual team expenses, such as cost of tournament entry, referees fees, facilities fees, or any other fee assessed to the team for team expenses.   In the event that assistance is needed in this area, the scholarship family will not be included in the budget/calculations for the cost assessed to each player to cover these expenses for the team.  

 FEE COLLECTION

Any funds collected/contributed from the scholarship family (partial or in full) will be credited to the team account first to cover/offset that Individual player’s portion/cost for participation in team events, as described under Item 4.   Financial Assistance/scholarship funds do not cover costs associated with travel, lodging or food while at team is participating at an event.  

OBLIGATION

The scholarship family will be required to perform the following obligation per season:

1.  Provide hours of work at the Clarksville Fusion Tournaments and/or fill a leadership position during the tournament.

 

2.  Provide help for any fundraiser event held by Clarksville Fusion F.C.

 

3.   Various volunteer requirements as requested by your team manager, coach and/or Clarksville Fusion F.C.

 

4.  Required to participate in the team’s parental requirements.

 

5.  Every effort should be made to sell tournament ads, and participating in other fundraising events. 

 

6.   The player will be required to attend all team functions unless the coach approves them being absent.  If multiple absences occur the scholarship will be revoked. 

 

Please ensure that you are willing and able to meet the above obligation before submitting an application.  You are signing a contract at the beginning of each season.  Failure to fulfill these requirements per season will result in your club scholarship being rescinded. 

 

 

APPLICATION AND APPROVAL PROCESS 

 

To apply:  Complete the scholarship application form and submit to the Head Coach of the team.   A copy must also be provided to the Director of Coaching and Fusin F.C. Board of Directors for approval.   This should be submitted at the beginning of the seasonal year.  In the event that financial circumstances change and a need occurs mid-season, under these special circumstances, the Director of Coaching will review those applications with the Board of Directors for approval.  The scholarship family must re-apply each year.
